Verse of the day
Deuteronomy 6:5
You must love the LORD your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength.
Theme: Love the Lord your God
How Joshua 22 connects
As the eastern tribes prepare to return across the Jordan, Joshua charges them with the very heart of the Shema: to 'Love the LORD your God' and 'serve him with all your heart and being' (Josh 22:5). This charge shows that wholehearted love is practical and active—demonstrated by clinging to the Lord and walking in His commandments. Even when separated by distance from the sanctuary, Israel was called to preserve covenant fidelity and prove their love through steadfast obedience.
