Matthew 22:37 commands us to 'love the Lord your God' with our entire being. The parable in Matthew 22:1-12 illustrates the consequence of *failing* to love God this way, showing that rejecting His invitation to the banquet (vv. 3-7) or appearing without proper reverence (vv. 11-12) are stark examples of not loving Him as commanded.
