A near-kinsman with the right, the means, and the will
The shadow (Old Testament)
Under the Law, a goel — a near kinsman — could redeem a relative's lost inheritance, buy them out of slavery, or marry a widow to raise up an heir for a dead brother (Leviticus 25:25-49; Ruth 3–4). To qualify, he had to be genuinely related, actually able to pay, and truly willing. Boaz was all three, and that's the point of his story.

The substance (Christ)
Christ is our Kinsman-Redeemer, and the requirements line up perfectly. He became one of us — bone of our bone, flesh of our flesh (Hebrews 2:14-17). He paid the full price with His own blood (1 Peter 1:18-19). And He was willing — "for the joy set before Him He endured the cross" (Hebrews 12:2). Related, able, willing.
